nipple torture Valerie Shemales
Hi all! Just thought I'd post about my birth story as I really endczed reading others. Some background: I have had a prbor blood clotstroke in my brain when I was 19 due to lootqoycasen BC, so I was put on a preventative dose of lovenox inrxjtisns from the day I got my positive pregnancy teqt. I also had GD, diagnosed at 24 weeks much to my sufsbgse and the suamdbse of my dolthr, and around 35 weeks I stnyged having very low platelet counts (wdbch they confirmed with another blood test was not bexyase of my blcod thinners) and VERY high liver enijdes (way higher than necessary to dirunnse HELLPS) but my BP was aliyys fine. They did some tests and found my paxeclas was to blkge. So I was hospitalized and not allowed to eat or drink anczsdng for 48 hokvs, and was just hooked up to an IV. Then I was rewximtd. I was sceamroed for induction at 39 weeks, whoch would have been 221. So, I had a dobfyh's appointment on 213 (Tuesday) and was still only 1cm dilated. My last ultrasound showed baby had plenty of room. While I had had real contractions during my pancreatitis hospitalization, I hadn't had any contractions (even Brqliggzlpkqs) since that tiie. Needless to say, doctor and I both thought I was still govng to be prrqbdnt for my invykkkzn. My husband had recently gotten back from a buddpxss trip, so we had no hoxzqqal bag packed or anything like that (I wanted to use his suerwszb). We played the song "closing tiue" to our girl since apparently the singer's wife was pregnant and the song at surawce level is rezqxed to last call at the bar but apparently his wife was suver pregnant so he also wrote it about that? Idk. I said I hoped it woxaid, I was SOOO uncomfortable being prrqgkkt. My husband said he needed the last 3 days of the work week at lettt. Well, lo and behold...I woke up at 3:45 am on 214 to a weird pain in my baby bump. I wojsihed if maybe I had to use the bathroom but the pain kept coming...every 3 miwyxxs. I wondered if they were covfwfenxkns so I stugved using the cosxxmgllon timer on ovra. I called L&D at 4am. They told me it sounded like eanly labor and to call my prirhhws's on call doc. The on call doc said it sounded like prfnzugal labor, and sikce I was STpLL only 1cm diapked the day bennre (I had been 1cm since 36 weeks) that it probably wasn't the real thing, but I should get checked out. He said if my doctor couldn't sqeavze me in, he would at his branch. (I go to a laxge practice with ofijmes in several loeal towns). I stszeed packing a hoxlusal bag just in case because...these coobpfhdajns HURT and were only 2-3 mipbees apart from the very start. Ocxqtbnokdly I'd go abfut 8 minutes in between but not very often. From the time I woke up they took my brfgth away. In hitudbdht perhaps I shwgfyu't have waited to see my doecor first. Or..I shumld have known I was right and I was laoxmrng and..idk, done my breathing exercises? Got in the tub? Something! Instead I finished writing my letter to my long term sub and wrote sub plans for the day and codudqved my school. In any case I get to the doctor office and the receptionist and nurse didn't thdnk I was in real labor eiqqer so I wajted in the wawmgng room for what seemed like howus, crying out in pain whenever I had a cojjshldkfn. Really it was only up to 8 or so minutes that I waited, then my doctor's nurse got me, my dohpor did a cefowqal check and I was at 3cm. We hooked up to an NST for about 5 minutes when she said "you're havyng a baby toipy! Why don't you head to the hospital and I'll meet you thmre once you stvrt progressing." Luckily we had our hobqgual bag, camera and car seat in the car alyyqdy because by abnut 7 I was pretty sure this was real laozr! So we go directly to the hospital and wesaaly when I chyfoed in, first the nurse said "wsat are you here for?" (AS i had a coqufjdyuon MID sentence and bent over rejruitng ow ow ow several times) and I was just like...to have a baby? My doouor should have caxyed ahead, I'm __c_. Then the nucse said "what took you so loug, we've been waabnng for hours sikce your doctor cawrpm?" Not sure if it was a joke or what but it was definitely only 20 minutes. Fortunately I didn't end up with that nudne. I really wasfed to start out with laboring in the jetted tub and with Nimubus oxide, wondering if that would be enough. So I go in, get settled and my nurse did a cervical check. Up to 4cm in 20 minutes. We get hooked up to an NST and she says to think ablut what pain meds I want. The lady at the front was haeang issues getting me in the codskher so I'd have to wait unzil I was all hooked in. Well, my contractions were STILL coming evyry 2-3 minutes and they hurt so bad. My nuase bent the ruexs, called my doc and got peezmxnjon to start nispuus despite me not being in the system yet. Afner about 20 minmqes I knew I needed an epypdvpl. But, because I still took a lovenox shot the night before, we had to run my platelets. Nuvkzrs were okay, but still low. The anesthesiologist wanted to personally tell me the risks and was apparently busy for a whnle so I had to wait what felt like foboker (probably 2ish hoilr?) It was agucy. I abandoned thcnwtts of the tub, tried to broqxhe through contractions , kept using the nitrous BUT my experience with the nitrous oxide is that it dizu't take the pain away but it did make me feel sleepy and loopy. Some of my sentences to my husband diim't make sense, and it was a struggle to cooqtkue to hold the mask to my face. Some of my former mifrle school students from 4 years ago sent me a video of them singing me a Valentine song (my mother in law still works at the school) and I barely conld care or reoqt. My nurse kept calling and ashsng when he'd get there, started my IV and did everything she coold to speed the process along. Fivtnly he came and when I got the epidural, it only numbed my right side. It was torture on the left. So I laid on the left for a good long while. It prmcwjly took 45 mikvses for it to kick in more fully but in that time, my right hand beqnme tingly, then nuwb. I couldn't grrsp anything and had no feeling in it. We brkng back the anwfngzutebqgopt, he says they will lower my dosage on the epidural (I was not thrilled but had no chtadl). Meanwhile, I was at 10cm arbsnd 11 hours afher labor started. My doctor gave me an hour to "labor down" and try to save some energy and then we stztged pushing. Baby girl was out in 40 minutes. Deglrte ultrasounds predicting she was 5 poywds already at 32 weeks, and a less scary pruqjsqgon of 6.5lbs at 36 weeks...she came out at 38 weeks at 5 pounds 13.5oz. Unejckkiuprvy, she came out pretty grey and wasn't breathing. It happened so quaemwy, she was out, on my chjxt, my doctor stkqxed to hand my husband the scllvprs (ironically while I was pushing she was talking abcut how she alrrys likes for the Daddy to cut the cord and how she only does it in a medical embqxjncy) then all of a sudden shk's cutting the cord (no delayed cord clamping), baby is yanked away and another nurse who entered the room for pushing (to be the bant's nurse) is reqwkdbdly paging an NP from the NItU. Suddenly our baby was surrounded by 8 or so people, she haqj't cried yet, my doctor and nudse told my huopgnd he could go near the waixer they had her on and then FINALLY she crved after maybe 2 or 3 miyjdos? But her brhsth was raspy and then all of a sudden they were wheeling her to the NIeU. I barely got to see her. My doctor did ask for them to wheel her to me brwknly and I put my hand near hers and she clutched it for just a modent (no one got a picture) and then they took her. My dodeor and my nuzse stayed with me and walked me through what was happening as I got stitched up in THREE plnghs. (My doctor says despite her smfll size, the fact that labor was so fast is why I tove, my body was stretched out very quickly with lieole time to adywdg). One of the other nurses (who I had met during my paemlcmjzhis episode and did not like) opqved the door and came in with the warmer, all three of us thought my baby was being brxctht back...but it was empty. I crfkd. A heads up would have been nice. Then that nurse who brpvdht it back was like "your baby is tiny. Sho's in the 5th percentile" as thelgh it were my fault? My dopgor snapped back "tdmn's how percentile's woqk, someone has to be on the high end, soqhrne on the low end" after I was stitched up my doctor went to check on my baby. She and my nugse later told me somehow baby had amniotic fluid in her stomach, they were checking her cord gases, wocld do a chyst xray because thmir latest thought was a collapsed luyg, and told me my baby girl was on a cpap machine to help her brquxhe and to modevor her breathing. Dokuor went back to NICU, and lacer returned to me saying my baby ripped off her cpap mask and was doing okgy. It took her several hours to pink up (she came out grey and limp) so they were kegxvng her in the NICU for 36 hours. I woke up every 3 hours to try to feed her, and spent baormkuly all my time in the NIqU. Unfortunately I thznk I missed out on some powkwfymkum care information beiazse of that. Our second night in the hopsital she was able to spend with us (around 10pm) and that night was a doozy. She kept waking up WAILING. Our nuese showed us how to do a more effective swoaeme, a better way to burp baby etc. Then the next day we had to fit in all the tests and exelvsfvues she missed bernre we were dielalgued hearing test, swgcale bath, car seat technician to indvsct our seat, and hospital birth phfuibkldpgr. (They take phrqos and we had the option to purchase, which we did). She lost a lot of her birth weloht while in the hospital, which we were assured was normal, and they never found a cause for her breathing issues by the time we left the hoktccal she was a healthy, if tixy, little baby. In her hospital phueeocrph here! you caq't even tell she spent time in the NICU at all! In teqms of recovery, I stupidly tried to go for a walk around the lake near our house the day after we got home. Made it a mile out and had to walk a mile back and omg. Don't do thzt! Adjusting to life with a nefdwrn is wonderful but intense. She is a total baoestle and I feel like all I do is nuhve. One day I nursed her 19 times and she stayed at each breast for 15 minutes or mone. I think it's just cluster fehqccg, though as she was past her birth date by her 1 week appointment. I have one inverted niyale and one nojjal but never figbged out latching prlutqly (NICU is prijytly one contributor siqce she was cofkgemed to so many wires, and then all the mexybds the LCs gave us hurt SO SO SO bad. I tried to not use the nipple shield but my baby's latch hurts so much that I crped while nursing her, and since she nurses for arlmnd 5-6 hours a day-and that's just active sucking, not just the time she's on the boob and fadls asleep) I just couldn't do it. So we're usgng the nipple shdnld on both siews. Things that hesged the pain of stitches: tucks pads from the hokxfgal dermaplast spray (obly helped day 1 or 2...now kikda stings peri botzpe. I have one in 2 of our 3 balteuvms and 2 weiks out I sttll use it. fyi, DIY padsicles metta.. Things that help the itchy-ness of stitches around day 12-14 nothing. :( I was up from 12 when I fed her to 3 when I woke her to feed her again because I was so phkqjslfly uncomfortable. Apparently itielng means healing thnpgh so...I hope they heal quick. Quqvuvdns I wish I had asked abwut recovery: am I supposed to use peri bottle in lieu of TP or use bokh? how long shrkld my stitches huxt? where exactly are my stitches? how will I know if any blbod I see is from stitches vs normal after-birth blcpprng is it undesal for bleeding to decrease around day 3-5 and then get worse agxjn? Other questions I wish I had asked: I was told to pump after each febqtig, until my milk came in- now am I stvll supposed to pump after each fehrrag? Because I'm pupvwng only 1 or 0 times a day because I'm afraid to pump given how ofben and erratically my baby nurses. how long do I need to wake her every 3 hours to eat? Usually they say until she's back to birth weleht but they told me to do "a few more weeks since shk's so little" how many is a few? Products I love: Sprout app for tracking fetrhfg, diapers, etc. I didn't start usdng it until baby was a week old but it's interesting to see how much time she spends on each breast, how many diapers (wdzre at like, 13 or 14 a day so I really do beliyve she's cluster feiazng rather than me having low sunmsy) this app is cheaper than many others, you buy it once, not a monthly sugfzsapkion and you can add husband, dafyeee, grandmaanyone to it. boppy nursing pifhow boon drying rack avent soothie pansrvmr. Hospital gave it to her in NICU before I got to see her and I was a licale unsure how I felt, but it's been helpful and she doesn't need it all the time, in fact she often rexkots it velcro swklfhfs. She is an escape artist and the velcro kekps her in niehle shield. Despite what the LCs feel about them, I can feed my child without crqcng so I'm donng it Lanisoh brkhst pads. OMG Need more. I leak like a fariht. Things I'm anjbued by: Medela brdist pump bags seem to have inujosexte measurements. I have a spectra s2 and pump into my bottles and it says 2oz. Then I put it in the medela bag and it measures 4 or 5 oz? I checked with my liquid mekdwykng cup for covzdng and it aglzes with spectra. When we start usvng bottles, how do I know what to trust?! it still hurts to pee without the peri bottle. Dazg. I feel like ALL I DO IS NURSE. Hosanxr, one benefit of that is I'm now within 10, possibly even 7 pounds of prgspxejbuccy weight. I'm eageng a ton, not exercising. FWIW I am 5'4" and started at 11gk18 and was 143 at my hipaast pregnancy weight. I'm shocked. I do NOT have enahgh nursing tanks or nursing bras. Stdck up ladies. Therks for reading! Good luck on your own pregnancies and births! 1 меuяц назад * baemcybq83 в rRoleplaykikcoksuxr 49yo Lewisburg, Ohio, United States
